Luke Holmes, who receives travel through our sports fund, participated in his second British Triathlon Super series race of the year last weekend.
After a brilliant 750m swim in hot conditions, Luke started the 20km bike section close to the lead group and secured the second fast bike leg of the day (and fastest junior) but overheated in the run and lost a few places in the final 5km.
Whilst slightly disappointed with his finishing position of 7th Junior, Luke’s result still scores a good number of points in the Super Series after two races so he remains in a strong position.
His training has been focussed towards later in the season when the events are used as qualifiers for international championships so hopefully that will pay off by the time for the next Super Series race at the end of June.
