The Eco Team at Guernsey’s Elizabeth College can now compost up to 200kg of food waste weekly, turning it into nutrient-rich fertiliser for green spaces.
This follows the arrival of a new commercial composter at the school, supported by a donation from our Community Fund.
Everything from peelings and other food from the refectory, grass cuttings, tea bags, coffee grounds, plant waste from biology experiments and shredded cardboard and paper are now processed.
