The success of Brittany Ferries’ services last summer has seen Guernsey’s market share of ferry passengers from the UK to the Channel Islands exceed 50% for the first time.
New IRN Ferry data shows Guernsey captured 55% of all UK–Channel Islands ferry passengers between April and October, increasing to 57% in October alone.
This growth follows Brittany Ferries’ expanded services, which have boosted carryings by nearly a third since April.
Services from Portsmouth and Poole transported 112,255 passengers to Guernsey, surpassing Jersey for the first time.
Brittany Ferries also reported strong growth on France-Guernsey, with 36,472 more passengers carried to Saint Malo than last year.
