Brittany Ferries is pleased to have supported a recent trip by the St Saviour’s / Montebourg Twinning Association to attend the popular Foire de la Chandeleur in Normandy.
The parish of St Saviour has been twinned with Montebourg for over 30 years and the Guernsey contingent travelled via Saint Malo and promoted the Island to more than 5,000 visitors.
Items on the stand included butter, cheese, cream and buttermilk, real ale, gin, cider, various souvenirs, along with traditional Guernsey pullovers and Visit Guernsey leaflets in French.
As a result of the twinning, 24 students from the agricultural school in Montebourg visit Guernsey annually and more recently, a class at a local primary has linked up with its equivalent in the Norman town.
